Tamil cinema has always celebrated films that successfully
combine entertainment with meaningful social messages. Continuing that
tradition, "Sey Seiyyadhe" is a socially relevant drama that presents
the lesser-known realities of the medical world through a deeply human
perspective, highlighting medical awareness, family values, and social
responsibility.
One of the film's major highlights is the special appearance
of senior Indian political leader H. Raja, whose character plays a significant
role in strengthening the film's core message at a crucial point in the story.
Produced under the banner Harini Subbu Cine Creations,
the film is backed by Subbulakshmi Jeyaram, a B.Sc. Nursing graduate
based in California, USA. With a vision to deliver quality cinema that combines
commercial entertainment with meaningful social messages, she has ventured into
film production with this ambitious project.
The story, screenplay, dialogues, and direction are by Dr.
S. Raja, a medical professional and filmmaker. Drawing from his years of
experience in the healthcare sector across India and the United States, Dr.
Raja has transformed real-life medical experiences into a compelling cinematic
narrative that helps audiences understand the importance of healthcare in an
engaging and emotionally impactful manner.
Actor Guru Vijay plays the lead role in a character
that embodies compassion, responsibility, and humanity. His performance drives
the emotional core of the film while effectively conveying its central message.
The film addresses several pressing issues faced by modern
society, including neglecting health problems, self-medication, relying solely
on internet-based medical advice, and the misuse of drugs and narcotic
substances. Rather than presenting these concerns as mere awareness campaigns,
the film integrates them into an engaging screenplay that encourages viewers to
reflect on their own choices.
"Sey Seyyadhe" is not just a film about doctors.
It is a tribute to the entire healthcare ecosystem. Through its emotional
narrative, the film emphasizes the vital role played by patients, doctors,
nurses, sanitation workers, hospital administrators, and the public healthcare
system in saving lives. It reinforces the idea that medicine is not merely
about treatment, but about humanity, trust, responsibility, compassion, and
teamwork.
The film has been shot on a grand scale across the
picturesque locations of Tirunelveli, Kodaikanal, Madurai, and surrounding
regions. Produced with a budget of approximately ₹4 crore, the project features
high production values and the contributions of accomplished technicians.
Dr. S. Raja also appears in the film as the father of the
protagonist, while Darshini Reddy plays the mother. The female leads include
Tabitha Gunaratne and Monica Preethi V, with child artist Pratheeksha Mano
Prashanth portraying Guru Vijay's younger sister.
The visual richness of the film has been crafted by
cinematographer Ramnadu Vasu P, while National Award-winning editor Raja
Mohammad, renowned for his work in Paruthiveeran, has handled the editing.
Director Dr. S. Raja Speaks
"As a doctor, I have witnessed countless lives and
emotions inside hospitals. I always wanted to present those experiences through
cinema rather than as medical lectures, so that people could easily understand
and connect with them. 'Sey Seyyadhe' was born from that vision. If every
viewer walks out of the theatre thinking more deeply about health, humanity,
and social responsibility, that itself will be the greatest success of this
film."
